Our Work

Crafted Across Sydney's Northern Beaches

Blake Landscapes undertakes a range of residential structural landscaping projects across the Northern Beaches, pool surrounds and coping, structural retaining walls, decking, paving and complete garden transformations. Every project below is genuine completed work, built by the Blake Landscapes team using first grade materials and proper structural standards.

Beacon Hill Coastal Pool & Deck

This Beacon Hill backyard centres on a pool zone built for everyday Northern Beaches living. The deck was laid in a natural toned composite board, chosen for its timber look without the ongoing maintenance of a traditional hardwood deck around water. Imported travertine forms the pool edging, giving the coping a clean, light finish that suits the coastal setting, while frameless glass surrounds keep sightlines open across the pool area and garden beyond.

Materials & Finishes

  • Trex composite decking
  • Imported travertine pool coping
  • Frameless glass pool surrounds

The finished space pairs a warm, natural toned deck with pale stone coping and uninterrupted glass lines, a pool surround that reads calm and coastal rather than busy, and ties the entertaining zone visually back to the garden.

Narraweena, Northern Beaches

Narraweena Natural Stone Clad Wall

A level change in this Narraweena garden called for a retaining structure that could carry the load and still look like part of the landscape. The wall was built as a concrete block retaining structure, then faced in Ella Stone natural splitface stonework, a textured, irregular finish that gives the wall a hand laid, natural character. Bullnose travertine runs along the top of the wall as coping, softening the line between the retained garden bed and the space below and providing a smooth, finished edge.

Materials & Finishes

  • Concrete block retaining structure
  • Ella Stone natural splitface cladding
  • Bullnose travertine coping

The completed wall turns a necessary structural element into a feature: the splitface stone adds depth and shadow across the face of the wall, while the travertine coping caps it with a clean, pale edge that matches the surrounding paving tones.

Dee Why, Northern Beaches

Dee Why Modern Sandstone & Render

This Dee Why garden was reshaped around natural sandstone paving, laid as the main ground plane through the outdoor space. Crisp white rendered retaining walls define the boundary and hold the garden levels, their clean flat finish contrasting with the warm, textured tones of the sandstone underfoot. Architectural foliage was planted through the new garden beds to complete the layered, modern look.

Materials & Finishes

  • Natural sandstone paving
  • White rendered retaining walls
  • Architectural planting

The finished garden balances two textures, pale render against natural stone, with planting softening the hard lines. The result is a modern, ordered outdoor space that still reads warm and lived in rather than stark.

Frenchs Forest terraced garden with treated pine sleeper walls, synthetic lawn and travertine pathway steppers

Frenchs Forest, Northern Beaches

Frenchs Forest Terraced Steps & Turf

Close to home in Frenchs Forest, this sloping yard was reshaped with treated pine sleeper terraces that step the garden down the block and create level, usable ground. Premium synthetic grass covers the main lawn area, a mud free, low maintenance surface that stays green year round, while travertine steppers form a pathway through the space. Rich woodland mulch finishes the garden beds around the planting.

Materials & Finishes

  • Treated pine sleeper terraces
  • Premium synthetic grass
  • Travertine pathway steppers
  • Woodland mulch

The terracing converts the slope into defined, usable levels connected by stone steppers, with the synthetic lawn giving the family a consistent green surface and the mulched beds framing the whole garden.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Quality Materials. Built to Last.

Structural landscaping lives or dies on two things: the materials chosen for the site, and the standard of workmanship behind them. These are the materials we work with across our Northern Beaches projects, selected for how they perform in coastal conditions and how they look once in the ground.

Trex Composite Decking

A timber look composite board that holds its surface around pools and in salt air without the regular sanding and oiling a hardwood deck requires. Used on the Beacon Hill pool deck.

Beacon Hill Coastal Pool & Deck

Travertine Coping & Paving

Imported natural stone used for pool coping, wall cappings and pathway steppers. Its pale, light reflecting tone suits coastal gardens and stays comfortable underfoot. Used across Beacon Hill, Narraweena and Frenchs Forest.

Multiple projects

Ella Stone Splitface

Natural splitface stonework used to clad structural retaining walls, giving a hand laid, textured finish that catches light across the wall face. Used on the Narraweena retaining wall.

Narraweena Natural Stone Clad Wall

Natural Sandstone Paving

Warm, irregular natural stone laid as the main ground plane, giving movement and texture underfoot. Used on the Dee Why garden.

Dee Why Modern Sandstone & Render

Treated Pine Sleepers

A practical, durable timber used to terrace sloping blocks and retain garden levels. Used on the Frenchs Forest terraces.

Frenchs Forest Terraced Steps & Turf

Synthetic Grass

A premium synthetic lawn that stays green and mud free year round with no mowing, a practical choice for shaded, high use or hard to mow areas. Used on the Frenchs Forest lawn.

How We Work

From the First Consultation to the Finished Project

1

Understanding Your Vision

The first conversation establishes what you want from your outdoor space, how you intend to use it, who uses it, and what matters most to you, whether that is level lawn for the kids, a pool surround for entertaining, or simply a garden that is easier to live with.

2

Planning & Preparation

We assess the site itself: levels, access, drainage and the practical realities of the block. From there the scope of work is established, materials are selected to suit both the site and your budget, and the project is planned stage by stage.

3

Construction

The agreed works are carried out with attention to site preparation, levels and drainage, the details that determine how a landscape performs long after the crew has left. We keep communication open throughout, so you always know where the project stands.

4

Project Completion

The finished work is walked through and reviewed with you. Any outstanding items are addressed so the project is handed over complete, and the space is ready to use and enjoy.
